Restaurant Review: Crave The Dessert Bar

Crave The Dessert Bar is a new hot spot that just opened in downtown Asheville and I had to see what all the buzz was about. Crave is centrally located on Lexington Avenue by other local favorites like Curate, Rhubarb, and Positano.
Originally established in Charlotte North Carolina, they have expanded with their second location to our great mountain town and offer an extensive menu of sweets. Known for their specialty craft cocktails and as they put it, drinkable desserts. They also offer other homemade, over-the-top desserts and cupcakes .

Walking in, the atmosphere did not disappoint. You’re greeted by large contemporary fire pits lining the patio, setting a cozy spot for people watching, which never disappoints in downtown Asheville. The restaurant has been fully renovated to embody a chic New York bar with large leather couches, moody accent lighting, and a hidden library lounge in the back.

To my surprise, they had a lovely happy hour food menu. (Unfortunately no drinks for happy hour as that’s the North Carolina Law). Happy Hour is available from 5pm to 6pm and everything on the menu was just $5, including the S’mores Platter with a mini fire pit and all! The platter was large enough to feed 4 people and is normally $15 on the regular menu. It’s a fun experience to roast your own marshmallows while catching up with friends!
My takeaway; it’s a great place to end the evening in Asheville, but come with a full belly as the menu has limited offerings outside of small appetizers and sweet desserts. Come with friends or family and share a s’more or two!
